EDUCATION & OUTREACH

Core to Trevor’s mission is sharing stories of exploration to inspire curiosity and a deeper understanding the diversity of our world. Drawing on his experience as a licensed K-8 teacher and guest professor at the college level, Trevor has led workshops, public presentations, and curated virtual learning experiences.

"What a fabulous assembly! All of my neurons were on rapid-fire as I listened to you speak about your work. More importantly, your stark honesty as you shared your story about the paths you pursued that led you to your life's work reminded all of me of the dangers of assumptions and the importance of deep listening.  You must absolutely return to speak to us again in the upcoming school year."

Antoinette Quarshie Assistant Director of Global Studies Coordinator of Community Engagement, Riverdale Country School

"Trevor is absolutely engaging. His easy conversational style makes him a natural teacher and he is able to create an immediate rapport with the kids.  He can communicate his very high level of expertise effectively to young children, making your time spent with him just so incredibly interesting, whether it is in person or through distance learning."

Kirsten Becker Stammer, Third Grade Teacher, St. Stephens and Agnes School

Over the course of the COVID-19 lockdown Trevor has done weekly hour long live drawing sessions with over 30,000 total views. Participants of all ages have tuned in from all around the world including India, South Africa, Iran, China, Switzerland, Russia, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Germany, Canada, and across the United States. The inspiration for these drawing sessions is to share the passion and curiosity for history, archaeology, and exploration through creativity. Topics include archaeological illustration, ancient women warriors, portrait drawing, and 16th century sailing vessels.
